Parley records the conversations you choose to record and turns them into written transcripts. Here's what happens to them, in plain words.
Your recordings and transcripts are kept on your phone and in your own iCloud, so they show up on your other devices. We can't see them. When you delete a recording, it's gone from all of them.
Parley only uses the microphone while you're recording.
To write the transcript, your audio is sent to a speech recognition service. We don't keep your audio. When you import a file, it's deleted from that service as soon as the transcript is ready.
When a recording is done, its text is sent to an AI service that writes a short title and description, and that helps you search by meaning, not just exact words. We ask for services that don't keep your text or learn from it, and we don't keep it either.
Only what we need to count the minutes you've used: an anonymous ID for your account, and how long each recording was and when. No audio, no transcripts, no name, no email. Ask us any time and we'll delete it.
That ID is your iCloud account's ID for Parley. Parley asks iCloud to confirm it's yours, so nobody else can use your minutes; iCloud tells us the ID and nothing else.
Parley isn't meant for children under 13.
